Sports Leaders

Our Sports Leaders are a team of enthusiastic and responsible pupils who were selected through an application process. Each applicant was asked to explain how they would encourage and promote sport across the school, as well as demonstrate their own sporting merit and commitment. The successful candidates showed passion, teamwork, and a strong desire to help others enjoy being active. On our leadership team this year, we have a very promising footballer attending a local academy, as well as a black belt in martial arts!

As Sports Leaders, their role is to support the delivery of PE and sporting events throughout the school year. They work alongside staff and younger pupils during PE lessons, help to organise and run lunchtime inter-house competitions, and play a key part in promoting fair play, teamwork, and enjoyment in all areas of school sport.

Their efforts help to inspire others at Backworth Park Primary to get involved, stay active, and develop a lifelong love of physical activity.
