Head of Houses
At Backworth Park Primary School, we have recently introduced the role of Head of House and Deputy Head of House. This is a much sought after position that can be achieved through self-nomination, a rigorous selection process and followed by a democratic vote.
To become Head of House, our pupils must demonstrate consistent application of the Board of Backworth rules. They must also demonstrate high standards across a range of personal skills, such as:
-
Determination
-
Resilience
-
Positivity
-
Confidence
-
Communication
This is because our Head of Houses and Deputy Head of Houses are model pupils; they are role models for the younger children to aspire to and look up to. It is important that Head of Houses model exemplar behaviour and attitude to school and learning in order to fulfil their roles.
Head of Houses and Deputy Head of Houses take on responsibilities throughout school. These include taking visitors on guided tours of the school, representing the school on educational visits, displaying the house cup, taking visitors on tours and delivering important presentations such as for the event at North Tyneside Council for Holocaust Memorial Day .
Well done to our successful Head of Houses and Deputy Head of Houses. They are:
