During Mental Health week, The Board of Backworth completed a Mental Health Survey within school, and, using the findings, shared with their peers proposals that they felt would make day-to-day life at Backworth Park Primary even happier. One of these proposals were Kindness Ambassadors.

Each Kindness Ambassador was chosen for the kindness qualities - listening, showing care and empathy, understanding, positive communication skills, being a positive role model and following all the school rules consistently. They were appointed democratically. 

Kindness Ambassadors help children on the yard, are someone for peers to talk to, ensure that everyone feels included and, if needed, point them in the right direction of an adult to help. 

Kindness Ambassadors attend regular meetings and work on their action plan action plan, considering future work to benefit the whole school and support school's values and ethos in ensuring that Backworth Park Primary is a happy and safe place for everyone.
